Austria | FFG Basisprogramm Kleinprojekt 2026
Checked 9 October 2026
STATUS
Open for rolling applications through 31 December 2026 at 11:00 (FFG system time). Decisions are made at FFG funding sessions; submission does not guarantee support.
PURPOSE AND SUPPORT
This national FFG programme supports technically challenging and innovative experimental-development projects with total costs up to €150,000. The goal is an exploitable product including an MVP or proof of concept, process or service, including digital innovation. Austrian SMEs and startups may apply; scientific cooperation is optional. The maximum grant is €88,500. Standard funding rates listed by FFG are 45% for small enterprises and 35% for medium enterprises; qualifying research cooperation can raise rates up to 60% and 50%, respectively. Own financing and current instrument rules apply.
SCREENING FOR SHOPFLOOR COPILOT
The factory software concept could be relevant if the project is a technically risky, genuinely innovative experimental-development effort to produce an exploitable MVP/PoC. Routine feature work or normal product rollout would not satisfy the stated innovation test. Austrian SME/startup status, project cost limit, technical novelty/risk, eligible budget and own financing have not been established. Assessment: THEMATICALLY RELEVANT; ELIGIBILITY NOT ASSESSABLE.
APPLICATION
Submit through FFG eCall with a complete project description, work packages, cost plan and financing. Review the current Kleinprojekt instrument guide, FFG cost guide and SME rules before estimating an eligible grant.
